Noon Whistle

The Noon Whistle is tooting its horn for you to come on in and start your beer session. There is a new brewery in Lombard, IL called Noon Whistle Brewing and they specialize in brewing session beers. Session beers are lower in ABV than what most craft beers have. They have been open for a couple weeks now and have their grand Opening Ceremony on January 24th.

I stopped in there the other night to sample their beers. They will be having a rotating of 10 beers on tap and while I was there they had about 6 of them ready. All different styles too so no matter what your tastes run there is bound to be a beer there that you will enjoy and the bartenders are very friendly.

It's located next to Whirlyball and they have a pretty good sized area to sit and enjoy their beers while either watching the lone television or to gaze upon the brewery.

There is plenty of room for expansion and looks like they will also be doing some barreling of their beers as well.

I started off with a flight of beers of course cause that way you can sample everything and then get a pint of whichever beer you enjoy the most. First Born was the first in the flight that I sampled. It is a patersbier that was light in color and dry tasting. Langobard, a German weisse beer was next and it was tart and had a citrusy aroma to it. Pound Sign, a Belgian dubbel was next up and I really didn't care for this one, not my style of beer but maybe you will like it. On to some hops and their Kindhouse IPA, ah now this was a really good session IPA with some nice hop aromas to it. Next was The Parker, a hopped up wit beer that was quite good. And finished the flight off with the only high gravity beer they have on tap right now and that is their High Falutin, a Scotch ale. It was dark and creamy.

After I finished the flight off, I of course ordered a pint of the Kindhouse since I am a hophead. I'm looking forward to what their barrel aged beers will taste like and until then they have plenty of varieties to wet your whistle.
